One of the first pieces of advice that I give a bride when she comes to me seeking wedding design advice is to work with what the venue is giving you. This does not mean to take the venue theme and run with it, it means that the venue is already giving you a design, and you don’t need to do much to make your wedding look beautiful!
I knew I was going to love working with Stephanie and Dylan from the very beginning. Stephanie had a very classic and elegant wedding vision in mind, and Sky Ridge Ranch had just the right amount of Montana beauty to easily help her vision come to life.
Gold and grey tones with touches of greenery was the direction I was given. I knew that it would take some simple place settings, the magic of Habitat Floral studio and grey table linens to take the elegance of the Sky Ridge Barn to the next level. The gold chiavari chairs that Sky Ridge offers were the perfect touch for the table set up, and all the candle light and gold lanterns filling the room made it that much more magical.
I was especially obsessed with the simplicity of the cake display by Cakes in the Zoo! The marble cake in the center with the greenery from Habitat could not have complimented the wedding vision any better.
Stephanie kept the classic elegance with the wedding party style– it’s not as often that you see classic black suits for the groom and groomsmen these days! They complimented the grey bridesmaid dresses so well– and Stephanie’s dress!? Absolutely breathtaking.
One of my favorite details of the wedding day was how Stephanie made her grand entrance and walk down the aisle. She had her father drive her in on a classic Mercedes before helping her out of the vehicle and walking her down the aisle. It was such a special touch and made a particularly fun accessory for wedding photos after the ceremony!
Montana weddings are such an honor to plan and design. When people think of Montana, there tends to be this assumption the the wedding must be casual and rustic. That is just not the case. Often times the Montana brides and grooms with unique visions and an understanding that Montana is simply the background and accent of their wedding day have the most success when it comes to wow-ing their wedding guests!
A big thank you to Stephanie and Dylan for allowing me to be a part of their big day and the overall planning process! Another huge thanks to Brian Powers for the incredible wedding photography!
