When I first reached out to Paige Marie Photography about a Bridal Shower Photo Shoot, I knew I wanted to do something different. Paige loved the fact that the shoot was not going to be your atypical bride and groom shoot, so we hit it off right away. It helped that we are both very girly individuals and love a lot of pink, so it didn’t take long for the fuchsia flamingos to set the scene. Plus, what Montana Bride doesn’t want a tropical bridal shower experience?! Once we had the idea, we knew we had to make this happen.
The inspiration came from a number of bright and vibrant bridal showers that I had seen recently. Being a winter Montana bride myself, I knew I wanted to do something fun that looked warm and inviting. I loved the thought of bringing the tropics to Montana– especially during a time of dreary windy temps in Missoula.
A number of the plates and colorful touches started off in the seasonal section at Target. The best part was that when I reached out to Stephanie with Vintage 44 rentals, she had the most perfect chairs I could have possibly imagined for the shoot. She also had the matching glassware which I knew would make the dark wood of the barn and her farm table come to life. I know a number of Montana brides that have worked with Stephanie and her rental services. She is so flexible and kind to work with! She is even willing to deliver whatever the brides need. Always such a joy working with her.
I handed off the plates, gifts and beverage holders to AnaMarie at August and Stone, and her calligraphy touches were the perfect feminine accent we needed for every bride’s dream shower. AnaMarie is so easy to work with for every Montana bride and Montana wedding planner. Give her a few simple thoughts or pieces of design inspiration and she will create something even better than you envisioned. She also crafted the most adorable invitation suite I have ever seen. The clean lines and modern design are giving me life!!
And can we just talk about what Dottie at Bitterroot Flower Shop did with all the flower arrangements? She truly went above and beyond and the table centerpiece is overflowing with joy and beauty. Bitterroot Flower Shop is based in downtown Missoula, Montana and have been around for ages. They have quite the crew and design elements of every caliber! I have a lot of fun designing Montana wedding elements with Dottie because she loves out of the box ideas and creativity just as much as I do– if not more! What every Montana bride dreams of in a florist. Am I right?! My favorite touch was the sweet wreath she designed. We both thought this would be something fun and different. Most people think of wreaths for the holiday season or a funeral. Dottie and I say they can be made during any season!
If I didn’t have enough incredible vendors to brag about from there, how about this dessert set up from Whitney and Dani at Cakes in the Zoo? Pink Funfetti drip cake, mimosa cupcakes, and GOLD Pineapple cake pops! Cakes in the Zoo are always up for a challenge and do a variety of cake based desserts that are popping up all over in Western Montana weddings and events. I just love these ladies and the fun that they bring to the world of desserts. Not to mention they are just as sweet as can be. And yes, the Funfetti cake tasted as delicious as it looks.
A huge thank you to Velvet Bride for the sweet Bridal Shower LWD and matching accessory from Twigs and Honey. Bree was a classy Lauren Conrad look a like that day! Meghan at Apricot Lane was so great to work with as well. She gladly loaned us the other sweet outfits for the bridesmaid models. We had too much fun picking out the dresses leading up to the shoot! Attending a Montana Wedding or are you a Montana Bride yourself? Check out Apricot Lane for all your lovely Montana wedding guest needs, and Velvet Bride is always carrying the best variety of little white dresses, jumpsuits and wedding gowns for Montana brides and bridesmaids.
My pride and joy from the shoot was also also my biggest nightmare– as the balloon arch was supposed to be crafted on the outside of the barn and it just wasn’t happening with the wind that day. As every planner knows, all events usually end up on Plan B or C in one way or another. As a Montana wedding planner, you can pretty much always bank om the weather being the culprit for Plan B or C! With the help of Paige I moved the arch inside the barn and set it up there instead. It was such a fun accent to the rest of the colorful day!
Huge thanks to Paige for teaming up with me on this shoot and rolling with the windy weather. It was especially fun being featured on Wedding Chicks and getting to share our story with the world! Looks like Montana brides can have fun, too. 🙂
Another thanks to all of the incredible vendors that were involved! This Montana Wedding styled shoot is by far the most work I have done yet– and worth every minute!
